Booking, Cancellation & Service Policy

At MJ Gorgeous Makeup Studio, every bridal look is treated like a bespoke service. We plan timelines with care, use world-class products, and work closely with our clients to ensure the experience feels calm, premium, and well-organised.

This policy is designed to keep everything transparent so your day flows smoothly, and expectations are clear from the start.

1. Booking Confirmation

  1. Your booking is confirmed only after receiving the 25% booking amount.

  2. Dates are blocked exclusively after the advance is paid. Until then, availability is not guaranteed.

2. Payment Terms

  1. 25% booking amount is required to confirm the slot.

  2. The remaining balance must be paid on the same day immediately after the service is completed.

  3. If the client is unavailable after completion, the payment must be completed before the artist leaves the venue.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy (Booking Amount)

We understand plans can change. At the same time, bridal dates involve calendar blocking and genuine opportunity loss.

  1. If the client cancels the booking 90 days (3 months) or more before the event date:

    • 90% of the booking amount will be refunded

    • 10% will be retained as a booking and administration fee

  2. If the client cancels within 90 days (less than 3 months) of the event date:

    • No refund of the booking amount will be provided

  3. Refunds (if applicable) are processed to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days.

Reason for retention: The 10% retained covers planning time, coordination, reservation costs, and opportunity loss from declining other enquiries for the same date.

4. Rescheduling Policy

  1. Rescheduling is allowed only once, subject to availability.

  2. Reschedule request must be made 90 days or more before the original booking date.

  3. The new date must fall within the next 3 months from the original booking date.

  4. If a booking is rescheduled once and later cancelled, the booking amount remains non-refundable, regardless of the timeline.

5. Partial Refunds (If Applicable)

If a booking includes multiple functions and one part is cancelled, partial refunds may be considered depending on scope. Any partial refund (if applicable) will be calculated after deducting:

  1. applicable booking amount retention

  2. confirmed slot blocking impact

  3. any operational time and planning already executed

6. Trial Policy

  1. Trials are available on request and are chargeable.

  2. Trial payments are non-refundable in any scenario.

  3. Trial results may vary depending on skin condition, weather, prep, and real wedding-day timing.

7. Timelines & Service Flow

We plan our schedule carefully to ensure your look is done comfortably and beautifully.

  1. If delays occur due to client-side reasons (late arrival, venue access delays, client not ready on time, extended interruptions), we will still try our best to complete the look.

  2. If time becomes limited due to such delays, detailing or finish may be adjusted to suit the available time.

  3. In such cases, clients cannot raise complaints regarding reduced detailing caused due to timeline compression.

8. Time Extension Fee (Beyond Scheduled Slot)

Your booking includes a reserved time slot planned around your event schedule.

If additional time is required due to client-side delays or interruptions, a time extension fee of ₹500 per hour applies.

This helps keep timelines fair for all clients and ensures your look is completed comfortably without compromising quality.

This applies only when delays are outside the artist’s control.

9. What’s Included vs What’s Not Included

What’s Included

  1. Bridal makeup and hairstyling as per the confirmed booking

  2. Skin prep and base customised to your skin type and event requirements

  3. Premium long-wear makeup designed for strong performance

  4. Final look check and finishing at completion

  5. Minor assistance while the artist is still present during the booked service time (subject to flow)

What’s Not Included (Unless Added Separately)

  1. Dedicated touch-up service for the full event duration

  2. Artist stay-back beyond the agreed service scope

  3. Additional looks or additional people not confirmed in advance

  4. Services impacted due to client-side delays or unsuitable setup

  5. Use of client-provided products (unless allergy/sensitivity requires it)

10. Products Used & Client Product Requests

  1. We use professional, high-end products selected for best performance and finish.

  2. For quality and hygiene reasons, client-provided products are generally not used.

  3. If a client has a known allergy or sensitivity, it must be informed in advance. In such cases, specific client products may be considered at the artist’s discretion.

  4. If third-party products or services are used without the artist’s approval, MJ Gorgeous Makeup Studio is not responsible for outcome changes.

11. Workspace & Hygiene Requirements

To deliver the best results, the client must provide:

  1. clean seating

  2. adequate lighting

  3. power plug point access

  4. a private getting-ready space (recommended)

If suitable working conditions are not available, service quality and timeline may be impacted, and MJ Gorgeous Makeup Studio will not be responsible for limitations caused by such conditions.

12. Outstation Bookings (Travel, Stay, Transport)

  1. For outstation bookings, travel and accommodation are arranged and borne by the client.

  2. MJ Gorgeous Makeup Studio does not book flights or hotels on behalf of the client.

Accommodation Standards (Mandatory)

  1. Accommodation must be safe, clean, reputable, and hygienic.

  2. Air-conditioning (AC) is mandatory.

  3. Hotel details must be shared in advance for internal review by management.

As a woman-led team that travels frequently for weddings, we request clients to ensure safe and hygienic lodging. Poor accommodation can become a health and work hazard.

Local Transport

  1. Local transport is arranged by MJ Gorgeous Makeup Studio for smooth coordination.

  2. Actuals will be billed to the client and must be paid on the same day of service completion.

Additional Travel Due to Client Changes

If there are any last-minute venue or schedule changes, additional travel/transport costs will be chargeable.

13. Additional Looks or People

Any additional looks or extra people requested on the event day (beyond the confirmed scope) will be:

  1. chargeable

  2. provided only if time and availability permit

14. Realistic Expectations & Outcome Variations

Makeup enhances natural features and is customised per client.

Results may vary due to:

  1. skin texture, pigmentation, acne or scars

  2. hydration and skin condition on the day

  3. weather, sweat, tears, and humidity

  4. time available based on the event schedule

Reference images are used as inspiration and guidance, but exact replication cannot be guaranteed.

15. Client Approval & No Refunds After Completion

  1. The client will be shown the final look for approval at completion.

  2. Once approved, the service is considered successfully delivered.

  3. No refunds, disputes, or chargebacks will be entertained based on preference changes, third-party opinions, or post-event feedback.

  4. Any concerns must be raised during the service so they can be addressed in real time.

16. Photography, Lighting & Editing Disclaimer

Makeup results can appear different under different lighting and camera settings.

We are not responsible for differences caused by:

  1. harsh flash or incorrect white balance

  2. filters, beauty modes, or mobile camera processing

  3. photo editing or retouching styles

17. Outfit, Jewellery & Personal Belongings

MJ Gorgeous Makeup Studio is not responsible for:

  1. damage to outfit/jewellery caused during dressing or handling by family/vendors

  2. theft, loss, or misplacement of valuables (jewellery, cash, phone, wallet, etc.)

Clients are advised to assign a family member to manage valuables during the getting-ready process.

18. Safety & Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if the environment is unsafe, abusive, unhygienic, or unsuitable for professional service delivery. In such cases, the booking amount remains non-refundable.

19. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or inability to deliver services due to events beyond our control including severe weather, accidents, strikes, government restrictions, venue shutdowns, or local disruptions. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule subject to availability.

20. Acceptance of Terms

Payment of the booking amount confirms that the client has read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.

21. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
