How much do you charge for bridal makeup in Bangalore?

Wedding and muhurtham makeup is ₹30,000, reception ₹27,000, sangeet ₹25,000, engagement ₹22,500, and haldi, mehendi or pooja makeup ₹18,000. Family and bridesmaid makeup is ₹6,500 per person, groom's makeup ₹4,500, and the bridal trial ₹3,000. These are flat prices, not starting points. Every one of them includes makeup, hairstyling and saree or lehenga draping, and travel is the only thing charged on top, at actual cost. We are not the cheapest option in Bangalore and we do not try to be. What we are is clear about the number before you speak to anyone. Is hairstyling and saree draping included, or charged separately?

Included, in every price, for the bride and for family bookings alike. Makeup, hairstyling and saree or lehenga draping are all covered by the single figure quoted for that function. This is worth checking against any other quote you are holding, because hair and draping billed separately is where most bridal budgets quietly break. Hair extensions and hair accessories are not included.

Does airbrush makeup cost more than HD?

No. Both techniques are priced identically and always have been. The choice is made after your skin consultation, based on your skin type, your venue and how long the function runs, not on your budget. There is nothing to upsell you into on the morning.

Do you offer early morning or late-night bridal makeup services?

Yes. Indian weddings follow their own rhythm, and a 4 AM muhurtham or a midnight pheras is not unusual. We plan around your timeline, not the other way around, and we arrive fully prepared, on time, and calm regardless of the hour. There is no additional charge for an early or late call time. Many artists in this market charge extra for start times before 6 AM. We do not. The price is the same whether your call time is nine in the morning or two at night. Everything is confirmed the night before so there are no surprises on your wedding morning.

Are you available for multiple events like engagement, mehendi, and reception?

Yes, for every function. Engagement, mehendi, haldi, sangeet, wedding day and reception. Each look is planned specifically for that event's energy, lighting and outfit rather than a template carried over from the day before. Each function is priced separately and there are no package discounts. Haldi and mehendi ₹18,000, sangeet ₹25,000, engagement ₹22,500, wedding ₹30,000, reception ₹27,000. A bride booking four functions is looking at ₹1,00,000 before groom and family are added. Most brides start by planning one day and find they have four, so seeing the whole shape early is easier than discovering it three weeks out.

Can you also do makeup for bridesmaids and family members?

Yes. Family and bridesmaid makeup is ₹6,500 per person at weddings, including makeup, hairstyling and saree draping, the same principle as the bridal pricing. The same rate applies whether it is booked alongside the bridal package or on its own. Each look is planned around the individual's age, outfit and personal comfort, from minimal and elegant to traditionally styled. Tell us your family count at the first consultation rather than in the final week. Larger groups need more artists and a wider getting-ready window, and both are far easier to arrange early.

What is included in your bridal makeup package?

Every bridal booking includes HD or airbrush makeup chosen for your skin tone and outfit, professional hairstyling, and saree or lehenga draping, all within the single price quoted for that function. HD and airbrush cost the same. Also included are a pre-wedding skin consultation, outfit and jewelry coordination guidance, and a complete look consultation before the wedding day. Not included are hair extensions, hair accessories and travel. Family and bridesmaid makeup is ₹6,500 per person and groom's makeup is ₹4,500, both including hair and draping, though groom's makeup does not cover hair cutting or beard trimming.

Why is bridal makeup more expensive than regular makeup?

Bridal makeup is an entirely different service from regular makeup, in scope, preparation and responsibility. A bridal look takes three to five hours, is built around detailed skin consultation, outfit coordination and venue lighting, and uses internationally certified premium products chosen specifically for your skin type. There is zero margin for error on a wedding day, which means the artist's experience, calmness under pressure, and ability to execute consistently across a long day are all built into what you are paying for. That is what the ₹30,000 covers, and it is why the number is published rather than quoted quietly, one bride at a time.

Do you travel for destination weddings or outstation bridal makeup?

Yes. We travel across India and internationally for destination and outstation weddings, and we bring our full kit and team to your location. We have worked at properties in Goa, Udaipur, Jaipur, Mumbai, Kochi, Coorg and abroad. Travel, food and accommodation are charged at actual cost, with no inflated travel packages and no hidden surcharges. If we travel out and return the same day, only fuel, tolls and refreshments apply. For weddings outside Bangalore that require an overnight stay, a flat Overnight Outstation Charge of ₹5,000 applies once for the wedding, regardless of the number of functions. Every figure is confirmed in writing before booking. Nothing is added afterwards.

Can I book a bridal makeup trial before finalizing my wedding look?

Yes, and we strongly recommend it. The bridal makeup trial is a paid planning session, ₹3,000 for two to three hours with MJ Shekhar at our studio in Hulimavu, Bengaluru. It is charged separately and is not adjusted against your wedding booking, because it takes a slot, products and several hours that cannot be used for anything else. We use the trial to assess your skin, test base finish, finalize eye direction and lip tones, and align everything with your outfit references and function timings. You leave with a confirmed look plan and a wedding morning timeline so nothing is guessed on the day.

Can you customize a subtle or natural bridal makeup look?

Subtle, natural, soft-glam bridal makeup is MJ Shekhar's signature and the reason most of our brides find us in the first place. Every look starts with skin-like base work, balanced eye makeup that suits your face structure, and lip tones chosen around your outfit and skin tone, never a copy-paste trending look. The goal is always the best version of you, not a transformation into someone unrecognizable. Will Indian bridal makeup suit fair or European skin tones?

Yes, provided the products are selected for that skin rather than borrowed from a standard bridal kit. This applies equally to European brides marrying in India and to fair-skinned Indian brides. At MJ Gorgeous the entire base is matched from scratch at the trial stage, and the eye and lip tones are then balanced against the saree or lehenga color so the traditional look holds without the makeup reading heavy or grey against lighter skin.

Do you work with international brides marrying in India?

Yes, MJ Gorgeous regularly works with brides who fly into India from abroad to marry into Indian families. Shade matching is done from scratch for the bride's own skin tone and undertone rather than adapted from a standard Indian bridal palette, and technique is adjusted for eye shape and bone structure. Support extends well beyond the makeup itself, covering saree, lehenga and jewelry selection chosen against the bride's coloring, along with a walkthrough of what each ceremony involves so nothing on the wedding morning is unfamiliar. How far in advance should I book my bridal makeup?

We recommend booking at least six to nine months in advance, particularly for weddings in peak season, November through February and April through June.
